FINED AND LICENSE SUSPENDED. By Telegraph-—Press Association. Auckland, Dec. 15. Cecil Vincent Connolly was fined £2O in the Police Court for drunkenness while in charge of a motor-car which struck the safety zone in Queen Street at half-past twelve this morning. His driving license was also cancelled for six months. Accused's solicitor said that accused was a well-known business man. He had been out for the evening playing billiards apd just before leaving took two drinks. Misty rain was falling at the time of the accident. The Magistrate, Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., said that if the accident had happened earlier he would have fined accused £lOO. If people wanted to take drink they musf keep out of motor-cars.
