MAGISTRATE’S COURT.

NEW PLYMOUTH SITTING. «■ CAVIL CASES. A sitting of the Magistrate’s Court was held at New Plymouth yesterday, Mr. R. W. Tate, S.M., presiding. Judgment for plaintiff by default was given in the following undefended civil cases: —Commissioner of Taxes v. Frederick Morris, £l6 19s Id (costs, £1 Us); Taranaki Trade Association v. Samuel Henry Alvis, £3 9s 9d ( £1 10s 6d); same v. William Pratt, ISs (£1 6s); R. C. Hughes v. J. Zurcher, £5 3s 2d (£1 15s 6d); C. A. Wilkinson, Ltd., v. H. Pryor, £47 14s B<l (£4 Is (Id); J. B. Mac Ewan and Co. v. George Sleeman, £l2 Gs lid. (£3 Is). At the suit of Eric J. Hunt, an order was made that H. A. Anderson pay a debt of £7 'ds forthwith, in default seven days’ imprisonment. Waho IComene was ordered to pay T. C. Ust the sum of £l4 9s 3d forthwith, in default 14 days’ imprisonment, the warrant to be suspended so long as the debt is paid off in instalments at the rate of £2 a month. At the suit of G. H. Thomson, T. E. Hayes was ordered to pay a debt of £2 9s 6d forthwith, in default two days’ Imprisonment. On a judgment summons, Otto Huss was ordered to pay the Taranaki Farmers’ Meat Company (in liquidation) the sum of £24 Ils 2d forthwith, In default 21 days’ imprisonment, the warrant to be suspended so -long as defendant pays the debt at the rate of £1 a month. E. R. Williamson was ordered to pay Wilkinsons’ Ltd. the sum of £6 0s 6d forthwith, in default six days’ imprisonment, the warrant to be suspended until January 31, 1927.
