BOWLING.
TARIKI DEFEAT STRATFORD. At Tariki yesterday two rinks of the local club defeated two rinks from Stratford in the Banner competition by 50 to 39. The game between Skoglund and Glen proved a great struggle. At the thirteenth head Stratford led by 20 to 6. Tariki then pulled up, and when they went down to play the last head the scores were 21 all. With two bowls to go Tariki were lying two when a wick reversed the position and left Stratford laying two. In the other rink Tariki were ahead throughout. Detailed scores are (Tariki mentioned first): — Sumners, Newell, Stephens, Glen (s) 21 v. Leach, Smart, Lyons, Skoglund (s) 23. Mail, Loveridge, Fergusson, Harrison (s) 29 v. McElroy, Peters, Allen, Frogley (s) 10. In a friendly match a Stratford rink defeated Tariki as follows: — Parker, Kerr, Rumball, Hueker (s) 18 v. Somerfield, Wilson, Hunt, Bulcber (s) 23.
