WANTS BIG THINGS.

ENGLAND FROM AUSTRALIA. After an absence of two years abroad, Air Richard Stanton, well known in real estate circles, lias returned to Sydney deeply impressed by the great interest being taken by English people in Australia, its products; big loan and commercial investments, and as a place for settling their sons to give them a start in life. These, in a nutshell, embrace Mr Stanton’s impressions during his sojourn abroad. "As the result of my observations,” said Mr Stanton, “I do not think there was ever such a favourable time for pushing Australian trade with Britain, where gigantic propaganda is going forward with regard to Empire trade. Everywhere the people are being asked to demand Empire goods, particularly those from Australia and New Zealand. Australasia has a great friend in the Baldwin Government. "Australian loans and very large commercial undertakings attract the English people most. A £lOO,OOO proposition cuts no ice, but mention of one of £500,000 creates interest. The investing English public want big things only. At the same time, there is a keen desire to keep their investments within the Empire, and Australia particularly seems to be in their eye a lot in this respect.” On the return journey, Mr Stanton came by way of Singapore, where he was struck with the great possibilities for Australian goods. It was a remarkably active business place, he said. While in England Mr Stanton investigated the college for teaching real estate management at Lincoln’s Inn, and he hopes to see an institution established in Sydney on similar lines. He said he was firmly convinced that more Australians should travel —it would be better for Australia.
