FRIEND BETRAYED.
BARRISTER GRANTED DIVORCE: In the Divorce Court the President. Lord Mcrrfvale, granted a decree nisi to Mr Norman Henry Oldham, a bar-rister-at-law, of Cobham, Surrey, or the ground of his wife’s misconduct with Colonel Frederick Charles Rideout. Mr Oldham said that he and his wife were married at Henley ii: 1903, and they lived at Colwyn' Bay, Purley, and West Norwood. During the war he was for some time stationed at Gretna with the Royal Army Service Corps. He and his wife shared a bungalow with Colonel Rideout. After the war he and his wife and Colonel Rideout were employed at the Ministry of Food, and in 1921 Colonel and Mrs Rideout came to live with him and his wife as paying guests. In March last, Mrs Oldham announced her intention to live separately, and a deed of separation was entered into. Shortly afterwards he received a letter from her, enclosing an hotel hill and expressing regret that things had turned out as they had done. His wife stated i!j the letter that she was with "A. D.” which meant “Adopted Daddy,” thi nickname of the co-respondent.
