AN OFFICIAL RESIGNS, PLAY ON CHRISTMAS DAY UNWISE. By Telegraph.—Presa Association. Auckland, Dec. 14. Mr. W. H. Burton, auditor to the Auckland Lawn Tenuis Association, tendered his resignation to-night on the ground of his objection to the playing of the New South Wales-Auckland match on Christmas Day, which,, he said, was ill-advised and likely to offend a great many people. The association decided to ask Mr. Burton, who has been its auditor for 20 years, to reconsider' his decision.
