The National Union of Seamen’s ballot rejected political affiliations by 13,986 to 2,382. Mr. Hhvelock Wilson, in explaining the decision, says that the union is now entirely non-political and is completely severad from the Labour Party. It is pointed out that members of the union wilt henceforth pay no political levy. The Daily News says that the seamen’s decision is the logical outcome of the policy which Mr. Havelock Wilson has advocated with increasing zeal for many years. He has opposed affiliation with' both the Labour Party and the trade unions with more extreme tendencies.
