EMPIRE AVIATION
HUGE AIRSHIPS BUILDING. LONG JOURNEY TESTS NEXT YEAR By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Received Nov. 3, 5.5 p.m. London, Nov. 2. The members of the Imperial Conference spent the morning at the Air Ministry, thus completing their threefold detailed examination of defence from the naval, military and air viewpoints. The Conference will resume general discussion on Imperial defence on Thursday. Received Nov. 3, 5.5 p.m. London, Nov. 2. During the visit to the Air Ministry, the Dominion Premiers learned that two huge airships will certainly be ready to take the air next year. It will depend on the success of their trials how soon Empire flight, whether to India or Australia, is undertaken. If the trials come up to expectations it would not be surprising if the first long flight extended to Australia. Plans and materials for mooring masts are so simplified that if Australia decided to erect one it could be finished while the airship was journeying from England.
