GERMAN ARMY TROUBLE.
CHIEF'S RESIGNATION ACCEPTED. By Telegraph—Pres. Assh.—Copyright. Berlin, Oet. 8. The resignation of General von Seekt has been accepted. Nationalist newspapers criticise the Cabinet’s acceptance of General von Seekt's resignation as a capitulation to the Republican press and an act of ingratitude to the new Germany, for w'hich act foreign political considerations are largely responsible.
SUCCESSOR APPOINTED. Received Oct. 10, 11.45 p.m. Berlin, Oct. 9. Von Seeckt’s successor is General Heye, commander of the Koenigsberg Reichswehr, who was a member of the Supreme Army Command during the war under General Von Hindenberg. He is also credited with summoning the meeting of regimental commanders near the end of the war at which the Kaiser was advised to abdicate.
