A FORGED CHEQUE.
RELEASED ON PROBATION. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. William John Hardie, aged 21, appeared before Hie Honour Mr. - Justice Sim in the Supreme Court this, morning for sentence, on charges of uttering and forging a cheque for £l7 Ge on the Commercial Bank of Australia, at Oamarti. His Honour ordered prisoner to be released on probation for three years, a condition being that he make restitution of £22 6s, by weekly instalments of £l. Another condition of probation was that prisoner pay the costs of the prosecution, £2 3s, within three calendar months.
