BIG IRRIGATION SCHEME. By •' X'-s-n.—CopvriffhL. Received Oct. 7, 7.30 p.m. London, Oct. 6. Sir Geoffrey Archer states that the great Soudan cotton irrigation scheme is now un fait accompli. The dam has oeen completed and already eighty thousand acres are under cotton. The completion of the scheme will result in three million acres being available for cotton-growing under the triennial system. This will mean a crop of one million acres yearly.
