EXHIBITS AT DUNEDIN.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE. - By Telegraph — Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Last session legislation was passed enabling local authorities to defray out ot tlieii - ordinary rovenue the cost of exhibiting at Dunedin or making grants to the exhibition authorities. This, however, does not meet those cases where the rates for this year have already been struck, and to provide for this contingency the Hon. G. J. Anderson has notified the 'Wellington committee that Cabinet has agreed to ask Parliament to legalise the obtaining of the necessary money by way of overdraft. This has had a good effect, on the preparations in the Wellington district, and now that financial assistance will be forthcoming it is expected the display from this province will be far more successful than at first appeared likely.
