ROYAL BETROTHAL.

ITALIAN PRINCESS TO WED. SUITOR WITHOUT A THRONE. MARRIAGE NOT POPULAR. By Telefruan. —press Asan.—Co»yrl<ht. Received. June 22, 5.S p.m. London, June 21. The Rome correspondent of the Daily Chronicle states that the betrothal of Princess Mafalda disappointed the Italian people as Prince Philip of Hesse is a throneless prince and nearly related to the Hohenzollerns. The Italians hoped that one of their princesses would marry into a reigning family. Philip is a Lutheran and the princess is of the House of Savoy and is not supposed to marry a Protestant without a Papal dispensation. This difficulty, however, hae been cleared up and the marriage is likely to take place in August. The Prince and Princess will live in Rome near the Italian King.
