FUSION OF PARTIES.

Wellington, Last Night. • The question of a fusion of the Reform and Liberal Parties was discussed at a conference of committees representative of the two parties at Parliament House thia afternoon, but no result has yet been, reached. The Reform representatives were Messrs. J. A. Young, T. D. Burnett, WJ. Girling and O. Hawken, and the Liberals were Messrs. R. Masters, W. A» Veitch, C. Forbes and A. J. Murdoch. The conference was commenced at 2.30 p.m. and sat for about three hours, when it was announced that an adjournment till to-morrow had been made. No information was available beyond a statement that the proceedings had been marke<4 by the utmost goodwill on both sides.
