At a meeting of the Commonwealth group Mr. George Lansbury insisted on e the necessity of labourites developing an Imperial policy ‘before the party was next in office. Personally he favoured a policy aiming at the unity of Britain, the Dominions, colonies and India in order as the Commonwealth developed, which would work tor the good of the whole race.
