The Waitara Harbour Board held its monthly meeting on Friday, Mr. Jas. Hine junr. presiding. Mr. T. Ewens wrote asking the board that the leases, with perpetual rights of renewal, of sections 11 and 12, block 55, be put up for auction, The request was granted, and it was decided to place an upset rental of £5 on section 11 and £0 on section 12. An application from J. P. and Emma Hughson for the lease of beachf sections 6 and 4 respectively was granted. The board also agreed to the lease of five beach sections to Mr. F. J. Carter, of Rangataua. The plans‘forwarded by Mr. Moyes of his beach cottage were approved. The chairman stated that a most tedious position had arisen over these beach sections, as some were in the Taranaki county and others in the borough of Waitara. These bodies had different rating values, and it would be necessary to get the whole block transferred tor the Waitara borough. He did not think any objections would be raised by the county council. The chairman then moved in accordance with the suggestion, the motion being carried. Mr. Henderson reported that the wharf repairs were progressing 'satisfactorily. The secretary was instructed to advertise for sale certain leases which will expire on July 31, the upset rentals to be the same as five years ago. Owing to the diminished state of the current account, the treasurer was authorised to realise on securities to the face value of £SW. BAND PROGRAMME.
