An astonishing episode occurred at Middlesborough/ A naked, demented girl, 17 years of age, left her home and. was discovered driving a locomotive, which crashed into standing waggons, doing damage amounting to £250. The police with difficulty boarded the engine and found the naked girl jumping about. She was overpowered and taken to the .police station wrapped, in a constable's cloak.
The girl had boarded the engine and delightedly pulled the levers until she started the engine running.
