A Sheffield Shield match, Victoria versus South Australia, commenced on a soddened ..wicket to day, play beginning at 3.20 p.m. Victoria won the toss and sent South Australia to the wickets. The latter had lost 4 wickets for 163 (A. Richardson 81, V. Richardson 14, Pritchard not out 61) when rain stopped play for the day.
