The transport group of unions has requested the removal of the Federal headquarters of the Waterside Workers’ Federation from Melbourne to Sydney, as the group believes the war could be more effectively waged from Sydney. Communist and international influence has begun to make itself felt within the transport group, and messages have /been sent to the international secretary <f the Transport and General Workers’ Union in England (Mr. Ben. Tillett), asking him to secure a hold-up in England and at all ports on route of all ships loaded in Australia -by bureau labour. P. AND O. LINER HELD UP. Received Nov. 21, 10.50 p.m. Melbourne, Nov. 21. Mr. Justice Powers has ordered a compulsory conference on Saturday between the parties to the Maloja dispute. Lascars unloaded the vessel’s mails without interference fnpm the watersiders.
