Young expressed a wish that the local Anglicans should form a committee to help him in his work. -The committee, consisting of Messrs. Rumiba 11 (chairman), Needham, and Misses Woulfe (secretary and treasurer), Walter, and A. Chapman was formed. On Friday, November 14. Bishop Averill, of Auckland, accompanied by Archdeacon Evans and Rev. Young, held a confirmation service in the local hall, the candidates being Misses T. M-dC’lug-gage (Pohokura), M. Rumball, J. Needham, B. Walter and M. Gichard. After a very appropriate address by the Bishop, the visiting clergy, including the Rev. Kayll, and the congregation were entertained at afternoon tea by the committee, who had previously prepared part of the hall for the occasion. This pleasant little social gathering was concluded by the Bishop in a short speech thanking the people for their hospitality, Archdeacon Evans added Iris thanks. Last Monday school re-opened after being closed for a short time owing to the measles epidemic. The attendance was considerably better, though quite a number are still absent owing to sickness and. weather conditions.
