SOUTH ISLAND SCHEME. SERVING SOUTH CANTERBURY. DUPLICATION OF COLERIDGE. (By Wire—Parliamentary Reporter.) Wellington, Last Night. A further step has been taken in the development of the hydro-electrle resources of the Dominion contracts totalling about £l'lo,ooo having been let in connection with the duplication of the hydro-electric works at Lake Ooieridge. Tenders Are now to be called for a duplicate line to Timaru and an extension to Oamaru, estimated to amount to about £57,000.
