The Defence Department have receiv:ed a wire from Captain L. W. Andrew, | V.C., informing them that headquarters have changed the date of the annual training camp for the .First Battalion Taranaki Regiment from October 30 to the end of March and beginning of April. The fifth annual show and sale of i bulls on behalf of the Jersey Cattle Club will be held ,at the New Plymouth Showgrounds on 'Tuesday, October 7. Entries totalling fifty head have been received a fewer number than at previous sales, but the quality on the whole will be of a very high standard. A show is to be held before the sale commences. Three classes are to be judged, and the judging will be in the hands of Mr. E. H. Linnell, of Stratford.
