FIRE DESTROYS WOOLSHED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Blenheim, bast Night. A fire at Mr. C. L. Kater’s property, “Black Rock,” Waihopai Valley, destroyed a practically new woolshed. The building contained the usual plant and paraphernalia of a woolshed, blit no machines. A Dennis motor-car, which was also in the shed, was destroyed. The car was insured for £350 and the shed was insured for £4OO, both insurances being in the Liverpool, London and Globe Office. They will not cover Mr. Kater’s losses. WAKATU SOLD CHEAPLY. Wellington, Sept. 25. The small coastal steamer Wakatu, which is ashore near the mouth of the Clarence River, has been sold to James Johnston, of Kaikoura, for £225. Levin and Co. offered the vessel for sale by tender. It is understood that attempts will be made to refloat the vessel, which was sold as she stood. CONTAINERS FOR POISONS. Wellington, Sept. 25. With a view r to having the Poisons Act amended to prevent tradespeople and others from using aerated water bottles and jars as containers for poisonous liquids, a deputation from the Dominion Carbonated Waters Association waited on the Minister for Health to-day. Instances were given where lersons were fatally poisoned through bottles being used as containers for poison. Sir Maui Pomare said; the suggestions appealed to him, and promised to give a favourable consideration to the points raised. SALE OF MORTGAGED STOCK. Master ton, Sept. 25. Henry Francis Robertson, who was found guilty of a breach of the Chatties Transfer Act, appeared for sentence this morning. He was fined £2O and ordered to come up for sentence when called upon within twelve months. GREY POWER BOARD LOAN. Greymouth, Sept. 25. The Grey Electric Power Board has completed negotiations for ft loan of £50,000 on satisfactory terms through a Dunedin firm.
