VACANCY ON COUNCIL. BY-ELECTION NECESSARY. Messrs. John Thomas Goodrich and Robert Wood have been nominated for the extraordinary vacancy on the Taranaki County Council caused by the resignation of Mr. A. 0. Binnie, the representative of the Mangorei riding. A by-election will be held neXi Thursday, October 2. Mr. Goodrich has been nominated by Messrs. Benoni White, F. T. Davis, IF. Baker and C. Jordan, and Mr. Wood by Messrs. J. Wilton, R. H* Walla th, W. G. Stanton and C. H. Weston. The polling places for the by-election are:— Kent Road.—Mr. N. Rundle’s Residence. Korito.—Shelter Shed, School. Lower Mangorei.—Mr. Jos. Firph’s Residence. Upper Mangorei.—Public Hall. Hurworth.—Public Hall. New Plymouth.—County Office.
