A WATERSIDER’S CLAIM. By Telegraph— Press Association. Wellington. Last Night. The hearing at the Supreme Court of the case in which Donald Mundy claimed £4OO damages from the Grey mouth Watfersidere’ Union and Henry Kiirk, the union secretary, for alleged wrongful exclusion, was concluded to-day. The jury returned a verdict for defendants, who were allowed exists and witnesses’ expenses. HOME BURNT. Blenheim, Sept. 24. Fire has totally destroyed a sixroomed house owned by Harry Rogers, and occupied by R. W. Bowden, situated just outside of the borough. On the day previously the brigade was called to an outbreak in the same house. The insurance is £5OO on the house and contents. IRON MOULDERS’ AWARD Wellington, Sept. 24. For the Dominion award filed in the iron and brass moulders’ dispute the hours were fixed as 45 weekly and the wages as follow: Journeyman moulders (other than machine moulders), 2s 2d per hour; journeymen core-makers (who have served five years’ apprenticeship), 2s 2d per hour; machine moulders, 2s 2d per hour (present higher rates paid not to be reduced). Overtime to be at the rate of time and a half for the first four hours, and thereafter double. FLA X - WORK ERS’ DISPUTE. Palmerston North, Sept. 24. The Arbitration Court concluded the hearing of the flax workers’ dispute last evening. Judgment was reserved.
