DISTRICT NEWS.
BELL BLOCK. . (From Our Own Correspondent.) Last Wednesday a, very pleasant evening was spent at the local hall, when there was a large number present to participate in progressive euchre and (lancing. The ladies’ prize was won iby Airs. Sharp and the gentlemen’s by Air. 'Rogers. After 10 o’clock all indulged in dancing to capital music supplied by Air. Orr, while extras were played by Alias Bishop. The hall committee provided a bountiful supper. Mr. L. Giddy ably carried out the duties of A4.C., and the floor was in good order. On Thursday afternoon a large “At Home" was held at the residence of Alra. H. Street, when members of the local Anglican Sewing Guild met to augment the funds of the church. The attendance proved a record for the season, and a large amount of sewing was accomplished. Songs were well rendered by Miss Street and Airs. W. Holmes. Mrs. and Miss Street provided and dispensed a dainty afternoon tea. AU are looking forward to the afternoon and evening of the 24th inst., when there will be a sale of work and items of interest for old and young.
