MAGISTRATE’S COURT. A sitting of the Magistrate’s Court was held at Eltham yesterday, Mr. A. M. Mowlem, S.M., presiding. Judgment was given by default in the following undefended cases:—H. H. Judd v. C. L. Wilson, £2 4s (costs £1 3s 6d); A. A. Stewart v. D. H. Toms and wife, £52 Is 9d (£5 5s 6d); J. Peters v. C. J. Wiley, £8 9s 8d (£2 Is 6d); Charles Ackland Belcher v. Arthur John Hill, £2 9s 6d (£1 12s 6d); G. W. Peebles v. A. Onions, 10s 3d (8s). Orders were made in the following judgment summons cases:—Harry Gubb v. James Hodge, £6 4s. Order for payment in 28 days, in default seven days* im* prisonment. A. E. Burrows v. Percy G. Law, £6. Order for payment of £3 within fourteen days, balance in 28 days, in default seven davs’ imprisonment. J. H. Brooking v. C. J. Wiley, £l2 3s 6d. To be paid within fourteen days after service of order, in default seven days’ imprisonment. Harold Curtis was fined £1 (costs 7s), for riding a bicycle at night without a light. Owen Hoskin, of Mangatoki, was convicted and discharged on a charge of failing to register under the Defence Aol.— Argus,.
