V, Matthews presiding, when satisfaction -was expressed at the response made to the appeal and plans were discussed for making a. further canvass, which is to include the town area. A meeting is to be held on September 9 to discuss the matter further. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the ladies who had organised the canvass for subs'criptions.
