ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
DROPPED DEAD IN HOTEL. By Telegraph.—Press Asaoc’at'on. Christchurch, Last Night. Samuel Knight, aged 70, a married man, dropped dead in the Market Hotel to-night. It was his custom to drink a glass of beer on the way home from work, and in the act of paying for his order he collapsed and died. He had been under medical care for heart trouble. A BUSHFELLER KILLED. Gisborne, August 12. John William Excell, while bushfelling at Toatoa, was struck by a falling tree and killed instantly. FATAL FALL FROM TRAM. Christchurch, Last Night. John Whitburgh, aged 64, belonging to Methven, fell from a tram-car to-day and died in hospital soon afterwards. He was well known about the country districts as “Russian Jack.”
