MARINE ENGINEERS.

THE DISPUTE SETTLED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, March 18. The hearing of the dispute between the Australasian Institute of Marine Engineers and the Union Steam Ship Company concluded before the Conciliation Commissioner to-day. An agreement was reached regarding ship-keep-ing and vessels out of oommwsion in terms of the company’s proposals. It was agreed that, in lieu of Sundays and holidays, « chief engineer is to be paid £4 per month, a second engineer £3 per month, and below the second, £2 per month. The matter of wages was referred to the Arbitration Court.
