METAL HURLED IN AIR. ONE WORKER INJURED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Jan. 4. The end of a receiving cylinder from the compressor at W’. Parkinson and Co. a monumental works, Victoria Street, blew out this morning. Metal weighing three to four hundredweight was driven over* the tianilines to the kerb on the opposite side of the street. Over a dozen windows in shops and dwellings were broken. A big gang saw was completely wrecked. One workman was slightly injured, whilst others were thrown to the ground but were unhurt.
