FALL INTO CREEK.
MOTOR OUT OF CONTROL ONE PASSENGER KILLED. OTHERS RECEIVE INJURIES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Whangarei, Last Night. A dairy company’s motor-wagon got out of control at eleven o’clock this morning when going down a hill on the Otaika* Road, and it crashed into a concrete bridge at the bottom and capsized into a creek fifteen feet below. Several passengers were on board. Mies Charlotte Harrison, of Mangapai, aged about fifty, was killed almost instantly. Nurse Williams, of the 'Whangarei hospital staff, was badly bruised and received severe shook. A boy named Edwin Hardy, though on the underside of the vehicle, escaped practically scathless. Robert Kernohan, a county chairman, also missed any injury. The driver, Edwin Hardy, received a few cuts, but was otherwise uninjured. The vehicle was badly smashed.
