VISITORS TO NGAERE GARDENS. (From Our Own Reporter.) Decem'ber 2fi. Christmas and Boxing Day passed quietly in Stratford. To-day was fine and warm and many made the trip to the New Plymouth races, while all the morning a procession of cars from further south passed through in the game direction. Ngaere Gardens experienced a great influx of picnickers, and the half-hourly ’bus from Stratford was comfortably full each trip- The gar Sens themselves were looking their best and rhe visitor, when tired of roaming round the shady walks or inspecting the flower garden*?, found pleasure in listening to the music from the orchestrala. Messrs. Lester Bros, have been fortunate in securing twelve new selections for this instrument, W'hich were heard for the first time by many holiday-makers. Games of bowls and tennis were played each day. The “World’s” Hand Darning Machine like a small loom—mends anything from stockings and underwear to lace curtain.
