A MAN ASSAULTED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Ashburton, Last Night. Joseph Simpson Kelly, an elderly and powerfully-built man, pleaded guilty at the Rakaia court to assaulting, with intent to rob, an Indian ex-service man, Thomas Britt. Accused was arrested on Christmas Eve. It is alleged he dislocated Britt’s finger, injured his throat and other injuries. He was committed for sentence.
