Denby (Naval Secretary) haa published the programme and plana of the exploration of the North Polar r»« gion by naval aircraft, including the ZHI. six aeroplanes and two vessels with mooring maats. The expedition will undertake a most extensive scientific examination, chart ing an unknown area of more than a million square miles terrain between .Alaska and the North Pole. Tlie navy will concentrate men and materials at Nome, Spitr-!>ereen. and the expedition will aim ako to determine the commercial practicability of transpolar air routes.
