MYSTERIOUS FIRE.
BEAUTIFUL HOME BURNT. PRICELESS RELICS LOST. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland. Deo. 22. Mr. L. D. Nathan’s beautiful residence at Manurewa was completely destroyed by fire this morning. The origin is a complete mystery. The fire may have been caused by the fusing of an electric light wire or in connection with the hot water service. • ..e building contained priceless relics of early Auckland and the purchases of Mr. Nathan’s recent world tour. Mr. Nathan and the family escaped in their night attire. The servants lost practically everything. The building and contents were insured for £lOOO.
