CHANGES IN GREECE.
NEW REGIME UNCERTAIN. By Telegranh—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Dec. 23, 5.5 p.m. Athens, Dec. 21. Great efforts are being made to induce M. Venizelos to return to Greece fiom Paris. The officers’ corps proposes to telegraph urging his return. The Liberals telegraphed him, but the Democrats refused to countersign the message, as their views do not altogether coincide with his, and it was felt to be of no benefit to invite him to return until the constitutional question had been definitely settled. As a matter of fact, a change of regime is already considered un fait accompli. Portraits of the sovereigns have been removed from Government departments. According to a Republican organ, the Democratic Condouriotis has declared that he altogether favoured the formation of a democratic Government. Received Dec. 23, 5.5 p.m. Athens, Dec. 22. Cabinet has decided to invite M. Venizelos unconditionally and with completely free initiative to return to Greece and take the political situation in hand. A REGENT APPOINTED. Received Dec. *2l, 1.40 p.m. Athens, Dec. 20. An imposing ceremony was held at the Royal Palace. M. Coundourist was installed as Regent, and immediately consulted party leaders. The Republicans insist on forming a Cabinet.
