WAR IN THE AIR.

ARMAMENT LIMITATIONS. QUESTION OF A CONFERENCE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Dec. 23, 11.5 p.m. Washington, Dec. 22. The question of an international conference on the limitation of air armament was discussed at a meeting of President Coolidge and the Duke of Sutherland (British Under-Secretary for Air), after which the latter stated that the British Government’s position was well known. “We are in favour of a conference,” he said. “I do not believe, however, in view Europe, that France would agree to any of the general conditions existing in reduction in aircraft, and consequently a conference would be fruitless.” He added that he informed President Coolidge concerning Britain’s air plans, including the proposed dirigible service from England to India.
