THE SAAR PROBLEM.

SETTLEMENT REACHED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Geneva, .July 8. The council of the League of Nations, in the final session, which was public, adopted the following resolution: “That it is useless to discuss a provisional Saar ordinance, which is withdrawn. As regards other extraordinary measures taken by the governing commission in the Saar, the council loaves it to the commission to decide when it would be convenient to revert to common law. The council expresses satisfaction with the amnesties recently granted by the commission, and also great appreciation of the commission’s administrative work in particularly difficult circumstances, and assures the commission of its full support.” M. Hanataux expressed satisfaction at the settlement of a delicate question.
