PEACE AT LAST.
PACT WITH TURKEY. TERMS OF AGREEMENT. TURKS EXPRESS RELIEF. \ By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received July 11, 12.5 a.m. Constantinople, July 9. The council of commissionaries has instructed Ismet Pasha to sign peace on the established basis. A proclamation will be issued to-morrow informing the population of the settlement. The news was received in all Turkish quarters with relief and satisfaction. Lausanne, July 10. Agreement in principle was arrived at on the following basis:—The Allies agree to refrain from insistence on the currency in which the Ottoman debt be paid without such attitude precluding them froir maintaining that private contracts between Turkey and ; her creditors cannot be modified except by agreement between Turkey and the Ottoman bondholders on the question of concessions. The agreement recognises contracts made before October 29, 1914, and agrees also to restore war material belonging to tke Turks which has fallen into the Allies* hands.
