OIL WELL EXPLOSION.
THIRTEEN BURNED TO DEATH. By Telegraph.-—Press Assn. —Copyright. Received May 10, 8.30 p.m. New York, May 9. At Kerens, Texas, thirteen men were burned to death by an explosion at a newly sunk oil well, which a worker attempted to close’ when oil began to gush. Friction ignited the gas and oil, resulting in a vast pillar of flame a hundred feet high. Attempts to extinguish the flame were unsuccessful.
