FALSE PRETENCES.
TWO OFFENDERS PUNISHED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Palmerston N., 10. John Percival Morcojn was found guilty on twelve charges of false pretences in connection witA the issue of valueless cheques. He was sentenced at the Supreme Court to one month’s imprisonment. Christchurch, May 10. Alfred Lewis, charged with false pretences in obtaining money on a guarantee to cure deafness, was sentenced to detention not exceeding a year.
