ACTION BY LAW SOCIETY. By Telegraph.—Tress Association. Wellington, April 26. The court of appeal heard this morning in the case of the application by the Auckland District Law Society to strike off the rolls of barristers and solicitors, Archibald Lyon Denniston, of Auckland. The ground of application was an allegation that judgment had been obtained against Denniston in the Magistrate’s Cofirt for £153 7s 'ld, such sum being trust money received by Denniston on behalf of a client, and that such money had not been paid over to the client. Mr. von Haast. who appeared for the law society, said it was clear that Denniston had not kept in his trust account the proper amount to meet the liability of £153 7s Id. Argument is proceeding. The application by Mr. J. E. Barltrop, Feilding, was further adjourned. In the Denniston case, Mr. Johnson for Denniston, said that his client’s position was due to the defalcations of his accountant. '
