A SEVERE STORM.

EXPERIENCE AT DARGAVILLE. By TeleGraph.—Press Association. Dargavllle, April 26. One ‘of the heaviest electric disturbances ever experienced passed over Dargaville yesterday morning. It was beautifully fine till about two o’clock, when a severe thunder and lightning storm, accompanied by torrential rain, broke over the town. The thunder and lightning was almost continuous until about six o’clock, when it slackened off a little. One particularly heavy flash of lightning struck the * chimney of ?. hou<o but fortunately, beyond wrecking th 3 chimney, did no further damage. A number of people standing at the time were temporarily stunned and blinded. The heavy rain did considerable damage to the roadways and footpaths in various parts of the town.
