VIEWS OF LABOR. LEADER.
By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright. Melbourne, Feb. 6.
Mr. Charlton, leader of the Federal Labor Party, says that, after its unmistakable defeat, the only honorable course the Hughes Government could take was to resign, instead of bargaining behind closed doors with another party. No wonder the people were losing confidence in Parliament. LEADERS HOLD SECRET MEETING. Received February 5, 9.40 p.m. Melbourne, Feb. 5. Extraordinary secrecy is marking the negotiations between Messrs. Bruce and Earle Page. The two leaders conferred at a private house to-day unknown to the rank and file of the two parties, hut no announcement was made to the Press.
