BOXING.
LES GLEESON'S ACTIVITIES. Les Gleeson writes : A line to let you know that I have established a. boxing class here and am getting great support: in fact, so much that I have to open two more nights a week. The material I have is good and am expecting good results, as I think I have the makings of three champions in their different classes, perhaps mere. I have a lightweight, middle and heavyweight, from whom I expect much, especially the big fellow. 1 predict a good future for him. He is a clean-limhed, strong, healthy boy, with a great, punch. He has a fair knowledge of tho game already rtnd is possessed of brains. I see by your valuable column devoted to the Minings of the Association that he is matched with V. Laurent. 1 allude to Jack Waite, of Urenui. The fans tell me that Laurent can fight. I’ll vouch for my boy, so it will be a contest worth seeing. If Waite pulls this off, I am aftfl.r bigger game for him.
I notice I am matched witli Cadman. Well, Cadman is a fighter and a puncher of the give and take order, which style of milling suits ■me riglit. My punching powers being undeniable, there will he something doing on the night of February 14. 1 have already started light work, and am getting plenty of exercise with my pupils, so will have no complaints on the score of condition, and I assure your readers that I will he there and doing all the time tlic contest lasts.
