MUNICIPAL HOUSING SCHEME. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wanganui, Jan. 17. During the house shovtage, the Borough Council, in order to relieve the distress, decided to erect fiftsen brick house at Springvale, the prices being fxed at £9OO for a five-roomed house and £Bl5 for a four-roomed bouse,, with a deposit of £25, the sections averaging about one-sixth acre. Glasgow leases of these were offered by auction to-day, the highest bidder to take a house at the. price aforementioned, hut no sales took place. The council now have to arrange to rent these houses.
