RACING FIXTURES. Nov, 25—South Canterbury J.C. Spring. 25, 28—Takapuna J.C. Spring. Nov. 29, 30—Feildlng J.C. Spring. TURF TOPICS. (By "Moturoa.”) Takapuna races to-day. Feilding on Wednesday next. Pillage is worth following now. Tinohoro represents class in the Alison Cup. Westminster reads well In the Ponul Hurdles. Save up your shekels for Rapine at Feilding. Hlpo haa a nice handy weight in tile Cheltenham Hadicap. Muraahi will oe one of the fancied in the big handicap at Feilding. Walmatao was unlucky at Ashhurst, but will soon win a short hurdle race. Whizz Bang was so sofe on Wednesday that he couldn’t jump a fence. He fell. Now that Paddington Green has struck form he has only to behave to keep on winning. Clvllform was the only double winner at Ashhurst, and he paid a wonderful price in the Pohangina Handicap. Morose looked a picture when produced for the open sprint at Ashhurst, but she always made heavy going of it. Prince Hal was the unlucky horse at Ashhurst, being twice narrowly beaten. Clvilform had 9st. to the Prince’s 7.2 in the Pohanglna Handicap, and 9.9 to 8.2 in the Welter, so that the top-weight had all the best of the deal. Mark Time did not find his feet quickly In the Pohangina Handicap on Wednesday, but ho was running on nicely at the finish. The brother to Marqueteur should stay a distance this season. The crowd of maidens likely to be seen out at Feilding are of the poorest possible description, and Refrigeration and Hecate looK the best of a bad lot. Ashley Reed, who Is riding well now, will be on Illumination, Lucius, Orofino, Sheffield, and possibly Landslide at Takapuna. He ought to land a race or two with that crowd. Miss Rene carried a ton of money in the Hack Flying at Ashhurst, and A. J. McFlinn hopped her out in front, but two furlongs from home she cried enough. The solid pace she had to make to maintain her position beat her, and seeing that the winner registered Imin. 14 4-ssec. they were going some I Eonmark passed Miss Rene and led into the straight, and when apparently winning easily, A. Reed 'stopped riding. Eonmark shut up like a book, and Magistrate got up In time to win cleverly. A. Reed made amends by winning the Cup on Zircon after a pretty race. The Speaker, who covered a heap of ground at the turns, led for nearly a mile, and then the favorite, Dissertation, assumed command, and looked like coming home on her own. The last furlong found her out, however, and Zircon and Merry Day beat her in the run to the post. Merry Day was kept too far out of her ground, otherwise she would have won. Easily the best, dividend at Ashhurst was that, returned by Projector, who (for a change) was raced over his right, distance. L. Pine drew the ace, and getting his mount away smartly, made a. one-horse race of it. As a matter of fact Projector was going as strongly as anything at the finish, and went round to the five furlongs peg before being pulled up. The writer, on whose advice Projector was tried over seven furlongs, was one of the few who "enjoyed” the big dividend. Pillage had a very easy victory in the Maiden at Ashhurst. R. S. Bagby quickly had her in front, and she came into the straight with a good lead. Happy Days threw out a hot challenge inside the distance, and Bagby was almost caught napping, but he got to work In time to win by a bare length. Pillage could have won by half a dozen lengths. Blissfulness won the final event in very easy style. There was a lot of bumping at the turn out of the straight, and ComicaL appeared to suffer most. Fera got out of the scramble well, and led along the hack, but had no show with Blissfulness in the straight.
