COLLISION IN HARBOUR. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. A nautical enquiry has commenced into the collision off the Queen’s wharf on May 13 between the ferry steamer Peregrine and the Gisborne Sheepfarmers’ steamer TiroaAPPEAL COURT RESUMES. Wellington. July 3. The second session of the Appeal Court opened to-day. the bench consisting of Sir Robert Stout, Mr. Justice Herdman, Sir John Salmond, and Mr. Justice Reed. So far 20 cases have been set down, of which eight are appeals against sentences. PUKEURI WORKS RE-OPENED. Oamaru, July 3. The Pukeuri Freezing Works reopened to-day with a staff of twenty slaughtermen and a full complement in other departments. It is expected about 600 sheep will be put through to-day. The slaughtermen have had experience in Canterbury previously, and - the killing is proceeding on the team system.
