STOPPAGE OF MINE.
STRIKERS TO BE PROSECUTED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received July 3, 10.25 p.m. Sydney. July 3. About forty summonses have been issued against employees of the Abermain Nd- 2 colliery for being concerned in the stoppage of the colliery without reasonable cause. The employees of Abermain No. 1 colliery who ceased work in sympathy are also to be prosecuted. Over & thousand summonses are being issued. The trouble arose in connection with a proposal to absorb the employees of Seaham No. 2 colliery, now closed down, which is owned by the Abermain Collieries Limited, the management refusing to be bound by a ballot taken at Seaham to decide the names and order in which the men would be employed, and reserving the right to select its own employees. A mass meeting of miners decided to return to work to-day. but fears are entertained that prosecutions will lead to further trouble. —Aus.-N.Z Cable Assn.
